Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, whether you want to volunteer once during the year or regularly, we gratefully accept your generous assistance! Your help is the key to our successful music program.

In addition to the volunteer opportunities below, the BWHS Music Boosters board and committee chairs ensure Mr. Minnick has the necessary support for the many band activities that occur throughout the school year.

Band Camp and Mini Band Camp (August – October)

  • serving snacks and water at all the practices as the new ‘Show’ is rehearsed
  • monitoring the well being of all the students

Pit Crew (August – November & January – April)

  • Transporting, setuping, and breaking down band equipment at Marching Band competitions, football games,  Winter Drum Line competition, Winter Guard competitions, or the annaul band trip.

Marching Uniforms (August – November)

  • assisting with fitting of students with marching attire
  • checking out and back in uniforms at the end of an event

Fundraising (ongoing)

  • provide support to ensure activity is completed on time
  • monitoring the students throughout the activity as required

Football Games (August – November)

  • setting up and serving pre-game ‘dinners’
  • chaperoning students
  • serving on the Pit Crew
  • serving snacks and water

Marching Competitions (September – November)

  • chaperoning the students on the bus to and from the venue
  • serving on the Pit Crew
  • serving snacks and water

Symphonic Concerts, Jazz Concerts, Festivals and Graduation (ongoing)

  • chaperoning students
  • assisting with performance attire

Concert Attire (ongoing)

  • assisting with fitting of students with either a tuxedo or gown
  • checking out and back in all formal attire after an event

Winter Guard and Winter Drum Line Competitions (January -April)

  • loading, unloading and transporting all equipment and instruments to the event site
  • chaperoning the students at all time during the event

Band Trip (ongoing)

  • chaperoning the trip
  • serving on the Pit Crew

Social Events

  • for the August Potluck and end of the year band banquet, helping with set up and clean up of event
