Main responsibilities

  • Identify new fundraising opportunities and continue to revisit previous activities for a varied program of activities.
  • Propose and obtain Board approval for all fundraising activities, both annual events and opportunities as they arise. For example, corporate sponsorship programs and discount card programs.
  • Manage all fundraising events during the year and liaise with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit  committee chairs and members, to include the Mattress Sale, Tag Day, Citrus Sale, Harris Teeter VIC Card, 50/50 Raffle and Falcon Merchandise sales.
  • Submit Building Use and Fundraising Request Forms to BWHS Administration.
  • Liaise with Publicity Coordinator to ensure marketing of all events.
  • Project fundraising profits for budget formation.
  • Track all expenses and profits and assign student proceeds. Forward information to Treasurer for allocation into accounts.
  • Attend monthly Board and general membership meetings.

Time required per week/per month and during the day/evening or weekend

  • July – November: planning, 1 – 7 days
  • Event days:  9 hours
  • Follow up of event: 6 – 12 hours
  • December – June: minimal time

Other information

Marketing aptitude is a plus and the ability to address students during Band Classes is helpful to encourage them to participate. This is the biggest challenge.
