Main responsibilities
- Reserve, pick up, and drive 22+ ft. rental truck for all Band competitions and away events.
- Operate and supervise safe operation of hydraulic lift on back of truck.
- Supervise and complete loading and unloading of rental truck and ‘Falcon Regiment’ trailer for all events, with instruments/color guard props/flag bags.
- Drive Chevy Tahoe SUV with trailer hooked up as required.
- Maintain all rolling band equipment, carts and instruments used by members of all Band Programs (primarily Marching Band Pit and Winter Drum Line Front Ensemble).
- Maintain, operate and load the ‘Beast’, a small quad ATV to pull ‘the train’ of instruments and ensure safe transportation to field/event site.
- Staging of props as required at competition site: drum major podium(s), color guard props.
- General maintenance of all wheeled equipment: inflating tires, repairing or replacing cart wheels.
Time required per week/per month and during the day/evening or weekend
- 6-8 hours per week during Band Camp in August, less once school starts in September and October.
- Full days on Saturdays during competition season for Marching Band, and Winter Drum Line and Winter Guard. For crew members who do not travel to events, the 2-4 hours for loading and unloading at BWHS only.
- Friday evenings during Football season.
- 2 hours per week during non-Marching season to check on equipment.
Key skills required
- General DIY skills to complete equipment repairs.
- Ability to drive a variety of vehicles, as above and for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25-50+ pounds to build loading platforms in truck.

- A great attitude of service to the students so they enjoy their performances.
- Allow adequate time for pick up and return of rental vehicles, for completion of paperwork and getting gassed up.
