Main responsibilities

  • Coordinate volunteers to support all equipment needs for all Band Programs, requesting help from Volunteer Coordinator, if applicable, to recruit parents to help.
  • Train and maintain regular communication with volunteers to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Define and allocate volunteer assignments.
  • Determine the logistical support required for loading, unloading, driving and handling equipment, including instruments, are met. Especially the precise and timely movement of equipment on and off the field for games and competitions.
  • Liaise with VP bands to reserve rental truck for all dates and events and ensure pick up and drop off of truck is planned and executed.
  • Manages the pool of all transportation vehicles including storage and care and liaise with LCPS personnel as required.
  • Work with Band Director to repair and maintain equipment, instruments, props, and other items for all Band Programs.
  • Attend Board and General meetings.

Time required per week/per month and during the day/evening or weekend

  • Depends on time of year and schedule of events.
  • More time is required during Marching Season (August to November) and Winter Drum Line and Winter Guard Season (February to April).

Key skills required

  • Some DIY maintenance and repair skills.
  • Ability to load heavy equipment.
  • Ability to drive rental truck and Tahoe vehicle and trailer.

  • Some storage and pick up facilities are away from the main locations at BWHS.
