Main responsibilities

  • Manage the Boosters web site ensuring information posted is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain and improve all aspects of the web site: calendar information, posting pictures and reviewing articles prior to publication.
  • Find ways to streamline, automate and improve existing manual practices.
  • Promote and support use of other technologies used by the Boosters, such as SignUp Genius.
  • Be an advocate for good data security and best practices.
  • Assist Board, as needed, to communicate important information to parents and students.
  • Attend monthly Board and General Membership meetings.
  • Train and support others, as needed, in the use of new technology used by the Boosters.

Time required per week/per month and during the day/evening or weekend

  • 3-4 hours per week at the beginning of school year for updating of the calendar and forms.
  • 1-2 hours per week for routine maintenance of web site.

Key skills required

  • Experience as a computer user is essential and some familiarity with web site techniques is useful.
  • A willingness to research and implement new things.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills and the ability to train others.
  • Good organization skills.

Other information

  • We need practical workable solutions not flashy technology.
  • Large infrastructure upgrades such as re-hosting and upgrading web site software can take many hours over several weeks.
